About Sustainable SEQ Portal
SEQ Portal's Aim
The aim of the Sustainable SEQ portal is to provide a link to online information, materials and websites relating to sustainability and its many categories.

The portal is designed for use by the general public, with a focus on South East Queensland.

Listed websites can be accessed via two major sections, "Categories" and "Audience", to cater for searches under major topics, or alternatively, by specific users.

These two sections cater for both the type of sustainability topic searched for, as well as the general type of user searching for it.

The Institute for Sustainable Resources

The Queensland Univeristy of Technology's Institute for Sustainable Resources (ISR) produced the portal in 2007 and continues to maintain it.

This institute specialises in sustainable related research, with its major programs in Climate Change, Water Systems, Energy Systems, Environmental Trading, Biosecurity, and Development and Infrastructure.

People's increasing interest in sustainability
Public interest in sustainability and sustainable development is rapidly increasing. Components of sustainability are varied and involve groups and individuals across the public and private sectors, the research and education sectors, as well as the wider community.

South East Queensland, especially, is facing the need to use sustainability practices and source relevant information due to an accumulating growth rate and the current climatic and environmental effects on the Australian continent.

This portal offers an ever growing database of links to websites featuring many aspects of the vast topic of sustainability.

Add sites to the Sustainable SEQ portal
Although the editors of this extensive sustainability portal regularly search for additional content, we also appreciate your suggestions about online sustainability information and websites. To suggest a great site we may not have included, please visit our Add a Site page for more details.

We are endeavouring to make this Sustainable SEQ portal a well used utility. If you have any questions about certain sustainability topics not covered in the User Questions section, or have located a regularly broken link, then please visit the Contact Us page. We appreciate your help.

(Note: Sustainable SEQ portal is updated weekly, so it may take four or five working days for a response/repair.)
